It is really fun to see the project move along and come together as we have in the past several months. It is time to share with you the things that have been accomplished and what the contractor is working on. Let me break it out by the various areas in the project;
Household 6: They are installing the second ceiling down the hallways. They installed part of the finished wood work for the entrance into each of the resident’s rooms. They added part of the cabinets in the nurse area and also in the dinning room area. The spa (shower area) has been tiled and recently painted. The tile work looks very nice and the colors match well. The NE outside door was just installed which gave the building a nice finished look. The windows are all installed now which makes the building great.
Household 7: They finished the bulk of the sheetrock and are painting the primer (the first coat of paint). After the primer is on, the sheet rock group will come back and finish the remaining repairs and then texture the walls and ceiling.
Great room: They finished the framing in the great room and are now finishing the electrical, HVAC and plumbing. They will be adding the sheet rock as soon as possible.
The entrance: The framing is almost complete, with only a small amount left in the entrance area. They add the sheetrock as soon as they have a finished wall which includes plumbing and electrical work before they proceed. They are bricking the walls in the entrance area outside.
Household 5: They are working on the framing, plumbing and electrical systems in household 5. Everything still looks “rough” as they are meshing the new with the old systems. This will be one of the last areas finished and there is still plenty of work to do.
Circular Driveway: Nothing has been done in the driveway yet. I expect that to be started by the first of October.
Middle courtyard: They finished putting in the plumbing underground and began pouring the cement just north of the great room. More cement work will be finished in this area in the next couple of weeks.
South courtyard: Part of the cement work has been added, however the balance will be done as soon as some minor plumbing and landscaping work is done.
Dock: We made some decisions to finish some infrastructure before we proceed in the dock area. It means that we will not finish as quickly as we would like with the dock, but we feel that we will be doing the right thing and finishing it correctly when it is completed.
Basement: We are about 40 % finished with the basement work. They are putting in electrical panels, boilers and other electrical, HVAC and plumbing systems.
Scheduled finish date: It does not appear that phase 1 will be done as soon as we would like, however we should be able to move in furniture into household 6 by the first of November. The finish date for the balance of the project could be as late as the end of December. A lot will depend on the weather, available materials and labor. The building is going to be a sound building and look great both inside and out. The outside of the building matches the existing building and the rooms look warm and inviting.

Re: Update for the phase 1 project
It is very exciting to finally get to that point where we have over 99% of the project completed and finished. The only things remaining are a few minor projects that will be done outside when the weather warms up. We have to replace some sidewalk and curb areas. We also have to make some adjustments to the sprinkler system and to some of the landscaping. After that we will be finished with the project.
We had a wonderful open house that welcomed in the public and the community to go through the building and see what we have accomplished. We had a ribbon cutting ceremony and welcomed in local city and community leaders. It has been fun and exciting to finish the building as is will be able to give years and years of service to the community.
We were given approval from the city and the state who approved the construction and certification of the building. Unfortunately, we have to wait until the beginning of the quarter April 1st 2008 before we can officially move in to households 6-7. We have the approval to move into household 5 any time that we want to. However, it appears that we will not move in until sometime in mid March.
Again, I give my heart felt approval and appreciation to the contractor, s sub-contractors and all the professionals who helped in the design and construction of this beautiful building.
